Fred W. Greer, Jr.

Born: August 7, 1939, Newton County, Georgia

Occupation: County agent; manager of Agribusiness Department, manager of Government Relations, senior vice-president, C&S Banks; CEO and president, Bank of Covington; president, Main Street Banks, Inc.; vice-chairman of the board, Bank of Covington/Main Street Bank.

Accomplishments: During his 28 years with C&S Bank, Mr. Greer
established the bank as a leader and innovator among banks in the agribusiness community. He coordinated events which took Georgia's agricultural leaders on annual tours of agribusiness operations throughout the United States and Canada. He worked closely with the Georgia poultry and cattle industries. He garnered support from C&S for youth organizations like 4-H, FFA and FHA. He initiated support from C&S Bank for the formation of the Georgia Agribusiness Council. He served as president of the Ag Alumni Association and the Georgia Agribusiness Council; chairman of Senator Sam Nunn's Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Agricultural Division of the American Bankers Association, and both the Georgia 4-H and Georgia FFA Advisory Committees; vice-chairman of the Georgia 4-H Foundation; and treasurer of the Georgia Forestry Association.
