Occupation: Chief of research, president and chairman of
H.G. Hastings Seed Company, a mail-order seed and nursery operation.
Accomplishments: Mr. Hastings and five friends started
the honorary club for students in the College of Agriculture.
The name, AGHON Society, was his idea. He worked with Mr. William
Sutton to establish the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia.
He served as chairman of the State 4-H Advisory Committee and
was an honorary member of the Georgia 4-H Clubs and the Georgia
Master 4-H Club.
